What is the 5-hour pre-licensing course?

Yes, you must have a valid NYS learner’s permit before taking the course. You’ll be asked to upload a copy of your permit when you register. The name you use on Zoom must match your permit exactly.

What age do I need to be?

You must be at least 16 years of age with a valid NYS learner’s permit to take the course. The course is approved for all ages 16 and above.

How do I get my certificate?

Your MV-278 certificate is issued after you complete the course. It will be sent to you by mail. You must sign the certificate before scheduling your DMV road test appointment.

What's the cancellation policy?

Cancellations or rescheduling must be requested at least 24 hours before the class. If you need a refund after canceling, email nys5hrclass@gmail.com with your name and class date. Refunds are processed promptly after notification.

Are there quizzes or a final exam?

No! Unlike self-paced online courses, our live class does not have any quizzes or a final exam. You simply attend the full session with your camera on and you’ll receive your certificate by mail.

What tech do I need for the class?

You’ll need the Zoom app (download free from zoom.us), a device with a working camera and microphone, and a stable internet connection. Log in 10 minutes early to test your setup. The Zoom meeting ID will be emailed to you the day of class.
